Bubble Bath Time

Lately, bubble baths are the thing to do. Daily my girls ask for a bubble bath. Something fun to do.

We had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and ate a lot of food, like always. We put up our Christmas stuff on Saturday. I can't believe November flew by and Christmas is just around the corner. Chris has his last class this Thursday. Yeah!! No more grad school. We are pumped.

Brynlee is sitting up now and loves to eat baby food.

Karissa is counting down the days we go to Disneyland.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This was last year's Thanksgiving. Sarah and Diane are here but out of the picture and taking it. Rick went home this year but stopped by on Monday and spent the night before he went. Our Thanksgiving was different this year. With Jared and Candace gone up to Washington to spend it with Lee and Spencers' families and Sarah gone on her mission, we were a small group. So, we thought we would eat out and save the fuss. So we (Bruce, Jeri, Diane, Andy, Randie, and Raidon) went to Chuck-o-Rama close by. But it was sooooo crowded that we decided to go back home. We threw together the leftovers from Sunday (which luckily was a small version of Thanksgiving with ham and sweet potatoes. Randie helped me make pies so we could at least have desert at home, so we had plenty of food. But it was still interesting. Raidon was the life of the party. After the kids had to leave, Bruce and I rented some movies and vegged out the rest of the day. Hope everyone else had a great day. The most important thing is that families are together and we remember how thankful we are for our blessings! I love you all! Jeri

So it rained all day but then we got lucky and it had stopped raining and was not even cold. The girls had a ton of fun going from house to house getting more and more candy. After each house Karissa would say, "What we gonna do now?"

Beth, "Go to the next house."

The family in late 1961

Hi family,

Thank you Jared for helping me get into the blog so that I can author posts. I put this message on the Keith and Kathy blog, but it really belongs here too. This is a classic picture of our family in about late 1961. You all know who we are, but here is a description. I am the baby being held by my oldest sister, Linda. To her right is the next sister, Susan, and below her, sitting, is the next sister, Jeri. My father, Archie, is on the far right and in front of him is my brother, the fourth child, Ronnie. My mother, June, is on the far left, and in front of her is the next child, my sister, Jeanette. As I said I'm the baby, Kathy.

As the picture is scanned out, the car, the trailer, and the landscape looks so cool to me. I really do love my family and am so thankful we can cherish times like this in pictures.

Jeri saw the pictures on our blog and she said that she remembers that day. She said Dad took us kids on scooter rides. I think we called it a "Tote Goat". I'm enjoying your posts. Love you all! Kathy

Howard Halloween

Hi everyone, we had some fun carving pumpkins last week and thought that I'd share our Halloween artwork. Wyatt didn't need any help carving his little pumpkin. Pretty good for 3 months old, huh.

My first post on the blog!

Pete and I were treated to a HEAVENLY dinner last Friday night, thanks to our wonderful bosses and Pete's hard work.  Pete did such a great job handling a file of his at work our bosses gave us a free dinner from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!  It was SO good!  The restaurant is at the very top of a super tall building.  After we were done eating we walked around on the wrap-around building and enjoyed the great view!

All I'm going to say is that he just crawled right into Pete's shorts and I had a camera handy!  Too cute!  There are more pics on my blog if you can't get enough of the Beasley boy!

Pumpkins!!!

My mom, Deana, Shila, and our kids went to the pumpkin patch today and we had a fun time playing in the Activity Barn, taking pictures, climbing on the big pumpkins, eating carmel popcorn, fudge and apples. (Can you tell who was having a bad day? :) )

Sister Howard and the Melon Man

Sister Howard is enjoying her new area in Gorlovka, Ukraine. Looks like she won't go hungry.

My 3 Girls

Time flies. My girls are growing up. Brynlee is 5 months old today. I noticed her first tooth yesterday and she rolls everywhere. Karissa is 3 and loves music, animals and making people laugh. Makayla is 5 and loves books, helping around the house and kindergarten. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful kiddoes.

Baby Conway #3

Well here we are, Asher just turned one and tada! We have one coming on the way! We are amazed by this blessing! Just adding to the Garrard family. The due date is May 5th. We are doing fine just having a little morning sickness and very very tired. More tired than with Alisha or Asher. Shane is tired too. It is draining for him at work lately and very stressful with watching the market and listening to all the political debates. He is so sweet and takes care of Asher, plays with him and gives him baths, he also helps Alisha with her homework and we try to read our scriptures in the evenings together. We hope you all are well, we love and miss you. We would love to hear any suggestions for names that you have! Love, Shila, Shane, Alisha, Asher and baby.

Hi, Family,

I like this blogging stuff. I can even get into them at work when I have some free time, like now. I didn't hear back what everyone thinks about using this to write and post pictures. Or would you rather use the MyFamily.com? This is free.

I am happy for Sarah to get her new companion, Sister Dubrovina, and to get transferred to Gorlivka. You will get her letter about it also. She has been very patient with her last companion, but probably helped her to grow. She can read our letters on this site also.

Happy 4th birthday to our little Emily!!! I hope you had a great day. We want to hear what you did. You are such a big girl. I love you.

We had Jared, Candace, Andy, Randie, and Raidon over yesterday for dinner.

I can't believe how fast Raidon is growing. He's learning to sit up very well too. I love his big smile. It reminds me of Andy's.

Bruce and I had such a nice time with Spencer and Jane a few weeks ago. Your garden is so beautiful. I miss seeing how Wyatt grows and changes like I can Raidon. So Spencer, please post pictures. Hope all is going well for you.

This past week the Tab Choir sang with the Utah Symphony for our annual Tanner Gift of Music Concerts. This time Eric Kunzel, who leads the Cincinnati Pops, directed us and we had 2 guest soloists, Dunyce Graves and Brian Stokes Mitchell. The theme of the concerts was "An American Songbook" and it featured many songs from the 30's and 40's as well as patriotic ones. I especially liked Brian's voice that reminded me of Johnny Mathis (remember him?), but better. He is a famous Broadway stage actor. It was an enjoyable week, but I'm always glad to have more time at home again.

Welcome to the Garrard Family Blog. It is our family's desire to stay in touch with each other and keep up with the happenings of all our families. With all the craziness that we all have in our lives, this site will help organize all of our thoughts and comments. Blogs are a great tool of the internet and with all the communication that we do with each other anyway, this allows us to have a central place. Please use this and visit frequently. This blog will only survive if we all participate. It will get better as we continue to post new blogs.

I, Jared, will act as the administrator of the site. I will try to maintain the site's design and add/edit/delete any items that we, as a family, feel necessary. Every other member of the family can be an author. As an author, you will be able to post new blogs and comment on other ones. Those of us unfamiliar with blogging will have a great opportunity to participate in this family blog. To be able to be an author, you will first need to have an account from Blogspot. Please go to blogger.com and create one if you don't already. (Note: you don't have to have your own blog to be in this one, but it's not a bad idea.) This is the same as a Google account for those that have Gmail accounts. I dislike having a zillion accounts everywhere but ... sorry, this can't be helped. Then let me know what your account is and I will add you.

We should try to be respectful of a few general rules:

• Always be considerate of each other and keep in mind of others feelings when posting and commenting.
• This blog will currently be open to the public to read (if someone should so happen to stumble across it). Keep this in mind in case you may want to post something that is too personal.
  
• Please only post your own comments. Blogging could potentially be used like emailing and be bombarded with forwards and chain letters. Let's not use this site for that.
  

Some of us already have our own blogs. This is great. Please let me know of it and I will link your blog to this site in our blog list. If you don't already have one, you may choose to do so so you can have one specifically for yourself. When having your own blog, you can have the option of adding this blog to the list of outgoing emails when posting. You may choose to do that and it will automatically post a copy of your blog from your site here. Or you may choose to just add a small note here letting us know of your new blog. Or you may choose to use the GFL email address. Any of these options are great and you can do whatever you are comfortable with.

For the time being I will have this site automatically post to the GFL email. So anytime you post on this site, the GFL will receive a copy. This should help everyone receive all the updates to this blog.
